Our Crazy Little Monster Avery

Here is the thing about having a toddler... it's really hard. We already know before we have kids that it is hard to be a parent, but having a small human that knows you are telling them no and they do it over and over again tries my patients like nothing else. Before I had kids I would see other parents and think, I would never do that or I will do it that way, but having one of your own changes those thoughts entirely! It is so much easier to just let Avery do what she wants, but I know how important it is to start teaching her things early like not to hit me :) and not to put her toys in the dogs water bowl! So a quick note to all you new mommies out there. Love your baby, cherish that innocence because in a few months your world will be rocked by a toddler and oh how it is so much fun, but OH how is it so hard at the same time!

Last week we had to take Avery to Instacare because she had a horrible cough and she was having a little trouble breathing. The Dr. said he could here noises in her chest and did a RSV check and also ordered chest X-rays to look for pneumonia. WARNING! Prepare yourself if you every have to give your baby chest X-Rays. This was a tramatic moment for Avery and me. Below is a picture and this particular child seems to have no problem being smashed by two plastic boards, but Avery was freaking out. She was trying to wiggle her arms down and with a X-ray you have to be perfectly still so the nurse had be hold her hands and talk to her while they took a few. Aves was screaming and fighting so hard that I started to tear up because I felt so helpless.
Good news was she just had a chest cold so they sent us home, but it took her a few days to start feeling like crazy self again. This picture was the day we took her in. Not so good eh?

The one and only sunny day on Memorial weekend. First Damn was packed...so the ducks had full bellys
This what when we were slaving away on Avery's birthday decorations
My mom with her grandkids
The STANK face...I'm a freakin' dork!
Willow Park Zoo! Gotta love it. P.S. There is the best snow shack in town there called Safari Snow, they take debit cards AND are open on Sunday!

At least Avery is so CUTE when she is not feeling well!!! We have a hard time staying out of the garbage can, not eating deodorant, and you know - normal crazy monster toddler stuff around here. We went out to eat with the McConnels and Clarks and a few other rugby people a while ago......someone asked me why I didn't just put Hunter's plate in front of him with his ketchup, fries, and chicken nuggets. I just kind of laughed to myself because I never thought I would put food in front of my kid at a restraunt on the table....but unless you want the plate on the floor and the ketchup smeared on your kid's head....you do what you gotta do! Hang in there!!
